Our Team
Our founder and principal, Ustadh Asim Ismail, is a renowned social entrepreneur in Pakistan. Fajr Academy is a key part of his wider vision for private Islamic education, which includes several initiatives under the supervision of Skylight Education Solutions. In addition to leading Skylight and Fajr Academy, he is also a widely-sought trainer and consultant in education and Islamic studies. Before founding Fajr Academy he served as the founding Head of Islamic Department at the Reflections School in Karachi from 2007 to 2011, where he successfully tested several initiatives that are now part of the Tarbiyah International Curriculum.
Our teaching staff adds a genuine passion for Islamic education to several decades of combined experience at Karachi’s best schools, including Head Start, The City School, St. Michael’s, Generation’s School and Reflections School.

About Us
As a society, we are famous for constantly hoping and praying for an honest and sincere leader to come and rescue us from our regular predicaments. Yet, very little effort is made to produce such God-fearing leaders for the future. Where will this leadership come from, if not from within ourselves?
REFLECTIONS is a unique educational institution, striving to empower our future generations with the much needed knowledge, skills and ethical values to embody the essence of Islam in every sphere of life, as God fearing leaders of the 21st century.
Our curriculum covers a balanced yet wide array of subjects which not only nourish the body (physical education), but also the mind (contemporary education) and soul (Islamic education).
Since its inception in August 2004, REFLECTIONS has grown from a student body of merely 30 students to about 1150 students in 2019.
From our initial campus on rented premesis measuring 1000 square yards, we shifted to our purpose-built campus on over 23,000 square yards (four and a half acres) in 2007. Our school campus houses a gymnasium, two swimming pools, a well-equipped library, computer labs, separate laboratories for Physics and Bio-Chemistry in addition to an Audio-Visual room.
In 2010, our first batch of students completed the optional Hifz (memorization) of the Holy Quran programme, while keeping up with regular contemporary schooling. Similarly, in 2015, our first batch graduated with a GCE O’ level certification.

The Benchmark started its journey in 2001, when couple of educationists started to feel that present education system is obsolete and cannot prepare a generation who can take challenges in near future. They realize that the most important part of education is missing and that is Tarbiah. We’ve been going away from the teaching of Islam without realizing the consequences in this world and in the Akhirah.In our current education system, we have more emphasis to look good rather to be good. People’s perception is more important than reality. Marks are more important than real achievement. Our success becomes hurdle for us to be humble, respectful, and a good human being. It teaches us to become prominent that make them more self-centered, arrogant and greedy. With this approach, when we win or lose, we react excessively. It increases anguish and greed that make us live a miserable life. With all these findings, we realize, we have to come up with solution and provide alternatives to the sensible parents and give a chance to our young generation to excel in present modern education without sacrificing Islamic values. It took couple of years to identify problems and finding appropriate solutions for each problem. We started a few projects and THE BENCHMARK is one of those projects that we are proud of.
At the benchmark, we teach to give importance to others. We embed that results are from Allah (S.W.T) and we can only do our best. Due to this approach, Students never feel jealous with anyone; since, reward is from Allah (S.W.T.). In fact, it increases respect for rewarded brother/sister; on the other hand, successful person do not act arrogantly; since it is from Allah (S.W.T.).

About Tarbiyah
First of all, we thank Allah (SWT) that He has granted us the understanding and vision to start this project and only by His help and will, we were able to plan and start Tarbiyah.
"Our Lord! do not let our hearts deviate from the right path after You have given us guidance, and bestow upon us mercy from Your own. Surely, You, and You alone, are the One who bestows in abundance."(Ameen) (Al-Quran 3:8)
In today’s period, people find it hard to nurture their children in traditional institutions without compromising their beliefs and deeds. Tarbiyah is established with the mission to fill the breach in the current era between the modern education and our values. Therefore, the management of Tarbiyah has decided to start a schooling project where young learners can get quality education under the umbrella of an exclusively designed 'tarbiyah approach'. We encourage the learners to spend their lives so as to get success in this world and hereafter. We believe that:
• Character and ethics must be reflected from learner’s behavior.
• Traditional education should capable the learners to face the needs of the on-going challenging era.
The academic team of Tarbiyah is comprised of experienced and skilled professional teachers and trainers who recognize the behavior of young learners and motivate them to become great personalities of future. They motivate learners to understand that why they should become a good Muslim, as it is mandatory on everyone and getting education is a need to meet the challenges of current era. Teachers at Tarbiyah work closely on learners to identify discrepancies and enhance their confidence and intellectual capabilities in respective areas.

The Benchmark started its journey in 2010, when couple of educationists started to feel that present education system is obsolete and cannot prepare a generation who can take challenges in near future. They realize that the most important part of education is missing and that is Tarbiah. We’ve been going away from the teaching of Islam without realizing the consequences in this world and in the Akhirah.In our current education system, we have more emphasis to lookgood rather to be good. People’s perception is more important than reality. Marks are more important than real achievement. Our success becomes hurdle for us to be humble, respectful, and a good human being. It teaches us to become prominent that make them more self-centered, arrogant and greedy. With this approach, when we win or lose, we react excessively. It increases anguish and greed that make us live a miserable life.
With all these findings, we realize, we have to come up with solution and provide alternatives to the sensible parents and give a chance to our young generation to excel in present modern education without sacrificing Islamic values.
It took couple of years to identify problems and finding appropriate solutions for each problem. We started a few projects and THE BENCHMARK is one of those projects that we are proud of.
At the benchmark, we teach to give importance to others. We embed that results are from Allah (S.W.T) and we can only do our best. Due to this approach, Students never feel jealous with anyone; since, reward is from Allah (S.W.T.). In fact, it increases respect for rewarded brother/sister; on the other hand, successful person do not act arrogantly; since it is from Allah (S.W.T.).

Our Journey
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Since its inception in August 2004, Reflections has grown from a student body of merely 30 students to about 1100 students in 2021.
From our initial campus on rented premises measuring 1000 square yards, we shifted to our purpose-built campus of over 23,000 square yards (four and a half acres) in 2007. Our school campus houses a gymnasium, two swimming pools, a well-equipped library, computer labs, separate laboratories for physics and biochemistry, an audio-visual room and two health bays.
In 2009, our first student completed Hifz ul Quran.
In 2015, our first batch of students graduated with a Cambridge GCE O level certification.

Being a Muslim it is our responsibility that we will try to achieve highest degree of تقوی ٰ in ourselves which may be displayed in our actions, attitudes and thoughts. We will instil love for Allah, fear of Allah, obedience to Allah only and seek His pleasure. Therefore we abstain every kind of evils and enjoin good deeds. All the members of UPSS will try to achieve highest degree of تقوی ٰ in themselves.
2. Following Prophet Muhammad خاتم النبیین ﷺ as Role Model
The Rasoolullahصلى الله عليه وسلم carried out the moral revolution and presented himself as model before Ummah. Today the Muslim Ummah can revive its acme by following the role model of Seerat e Tayyaba. All members of UPSS must be following the way of Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم in their daily life to revive his Sunnah They will try to develop his personality traits such as honesty, modesty, humility, trustworthiness, dignity.
3. Enjoining good and forbidding evil
It is the prime objective of Muslim Ummah to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil. We will achieve this goal by fostering sincerity, courage, determination, straightforwardness and required capability. All members of UPSS will try to enjoin good deeds and spread the message of Allah.
4. Research and Explore
People who rule the world are those who act according to research and exploration instead of static thought. Allah SWT has instructed every one to ponder over His creations to be able to compete with the rest of the World. All members of UPSS will improve their skills and competencies like creative and critical thinking, problem solving skills, collaborative and communication skills.
5. Service of Mankind
Every creation is member of Allah’s family. Allah loves those who care for all of His creations. We will develop an environment of cooperation and collaboration among each other. All the members of UPSS will value humanity. They will help others and donate generously in the way of Allah.
6. Protection of Ideology of Pakistan
Pakistan was founded on the basis of Islamic ideology. Therefore Muslim Ummah sees Pakistan as Fort of Islam. All members of UPSS will strive for the protection of Ideology of Pakistan. They will practically work for the establishment of the Islamic society in Pakistan.

The journey of this institution was started in the month of October 2004. Its first session was conducted in March 2005 under the direct supervision of the top management of Jamia Darul Uloom.
At the beginning, there were only three Pre School levels with the strength of a few students under the supervision of three teachers in the old building of HFS. But with the Grace of Almighty Allah HFS has now moved to a larger newly built premises equipped with all necessary facilities and accommodates a larger number of students instructed by well qualified, professional, enthusiastic and devoted teachers with high quality of education system.
HFS provides quality education under Islamic and very secure and peaceful environment which helps children to order their lives and their extracurricular activities according to the teaching of Islam.
In addition, HFS provides a good opportunity for a combination of Hifz and Arabic language to understand the Holy Quran and Sunnah, with basic general subjects. In this way, these students can get academic education as well as complete Hifz.
